Mainly because they always have that one local song. In Cincinnati there are plenty of local musicians (we have a couple great arts schools around, plus a large music festival at which local bands can get noticed: MPMF); two of those Musicians Jake Speed and Tracy Walker have this one to share.

February 28th, 2007Hamlet at the Know
February 24th, 2007Last night, the CincyIvy Young Alumni Club held a happy hour at the Know Theatre. Sarita and I stuck around after the HH to see the Know Theatre’s Hamlet and had a really great time.
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=3412020130993097589I found knowing the story of Hamlet who learned from his father’s ghost that his uncle killed his father and then married his mother is really helpful in seeing the play especially in the unorthodox version put on at the Know. There were cameras and TVs involved in the show and background music straight out of a Nine Inch Nails album throughout (not hard pounding rock, but just like random bits of sound that I would imagine Trent Reznor creating). The highlights for me were: Hamlet well played by Christopher Guthrie whom we’ve seen as Rosencrantz in “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead”; excellent costumes; music.
All in all, the night was excellent; I think we’ll bring some friends to the Know when we return.
